WITH SECOND SKIN BANDAGE

  • Keep tattoo covered with second skin bandage for 5-7 days (unless an allergic reaction develops i.e. excessive redness or blistering around edges of bandage, then you may remove it sooner).

  • Always wash hands with soap and water before touching the area.

  • Remove bandage slowly and gently while you are in a warm shower.

  • Wash area with unscented, antibacterial pump soap (Dial Gold) twice a day for the first 14 days.

  • After washing, gently dry with a clean paper towel.

  • Apply an unscented lotion to the area after washing and throughout the day if needed.

  • Do NOT pick at or scratch your new tattoo. Do NOT pick scabs or flakey skin off tattoo, as this can pull ink out and increase the risk of infection and scarring.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing for the duration of the healing process.

  • Keep your new tattoo out of direct sunlight and once healed, apply a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher to prolong the vibrancy of your tattoo.

  • Do NOT go swimming or into hot tubs until the tattoo has healed.

WITHOUT SECOND SKIN BANDAGE

  • Always wash hands with soap and water before touching the area.

  • You may keep wrap on overnight, or remove after 2-3 hours after you get home. You may want to put a clean towel underneath the area while you sleep to prevent ink from getting on your sheets.

  • In the morning begin your washing routine. Gently wash the area with antibacterial pump soap (Dial Gold). For the first 14 days you'll want to wash the area at least twice a day, or any time the area gets soiled.

  • Gently dry area with a clean paper towel.

  • Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor to the area 1-2 times a day or as needed to prevent the tattoo from drying out.

  • Once the tattoo has entered the dry, flaky stage you may switch from Aquaphor to an unscented lotion.

  • Do NOT pick at or scratch your new tattoo. Do NOT pick scabs or flakey skin off tattoo, as this can pull ink out and increase the risk of infection and scarring.

  • Keep your new tattoo out of direct sunlight and once healed, apply a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher to prolong the vibrancy of your tattoo.

  • Do NOT go swimming or into hot tubs until the tattoo has healed.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing for the duration of the healing process.
